SDM-Engine-2

August came and August went..

Most of the short block and head had been finalized but the waiting was for the cams and valve springs which
didn't arrive until mid October.
The new cams add a lot of lift and "Street/Race" duration.

The GLT head has only been port matched to the intake manifold. Rough ridges have been removed behind the
valve seats . The head remains pretty much stock from a porting point of view.
Valve's were converted to 6 mm stem type of the newer engine's.
For the cams to clear the head some material needed to be removed from the head. The hydraulic lifters were
replaced with solid lifters/buckets. For valve play adjustment under bucket shims were used. The Hydro lifter oil
feed lines were closed.
Both the cams received a provisioning for adjustement using a hex wrench but the only way to reach them with
a closed engine is through the oil filler opening. For this reason two openings were made in the cam cover.
